The WASPI campaign was set up in response to the Government’s proposed changes to the state pension age for women. Because of those changes, many women born in the 1950s will find themselves significantly worse off unless transitional arrangements are put in place to support them.

Back in January I wrote about the plight of hundreds of thousands of women facing financial hardship following the government’s rapid increase in their state pension age.

Women are the backbone of many local communities and often don’t get the recognition they deserve.

Whether it’s keeping families afloat, or caring for friends and relatives, or running local community groups – often on top of many other responsibilities – their contribution is sometimes taken for granted.
