Dan Jarvis, MP for Barnsley Central will appear at a special event at The Cooper Gallery on Saturday 15th September at 10:30 am.
The MP, who is also Shadow Minister for Culture, will speak about “The Value of Creative Opportunities – Releasing Human Potential” – the value and transfer of skills obtained through the arts, as well as wider issues such as the effects of the arts on life and the wealth of opportunities that exist in the local area. The audience will be able to ask questions and discuss the issues with Dan.
“I am looking forward to visiting the Cooper Gallery again,” said Dan, “it is a fantastic venue for the arts in Barnsley. This event will be good for anyone that is interested in the arts and the creative industries, it is also a good excuse – not that anyone should need one – to see the latest exhibition of sporting disciplines, a great demonstration of contemporary British sculpture and very appropriate to the wonderful summer of sport we have enjoyed here in Britain.”
Tickets for this event are £3 for Friends of the Cooper Gallery and £5 for visitors. For further details, contact the Cooper Gallery on 01226 242905.
