Many people have contacted me regarding the recent decision to grant fracking licenses in the Barnsley area. Although the site in question, which covers part of the Dearne Valley, is not in my constituency of Barnsley Central, I am still very concerned about the potential impact on the environment of the local area and the community. On 11 June Dan joined Prince Harry and the Prime Minister at a special commemoration service at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. The service was held in honour of those who served in Afghanistan and their families, and saw the war memorial from Camp Bastion returned to Britain for the first time.
